Welcome to Tahuna Beach Holiday Park. We are pleased you have chosen to stay with us in Tahunanui, Nelson. If you are enjoying our region like we do and wish to help us to reduce our impact on the environment, you may like to consider these things:
1. POWER - We always endeavour to turn off lights, heaters and equipment when not needed. You may wish to do the same. Communal facilities that are open all year round have sensor lights fitted. All laundry facilities have clotheslines outside. Please consider using these lines to dry your clothes.
2. WATER - We turn off taps when we are not directly using water. You are welcome to do the same. All new toilets have dual flush. Urinals are fitted with sensors. Water meters are installed to monitor water usage. We hope you respect the fact that we don't have timers or coin operated showers. Please limit shower times and refrain from washing clothes in the showers. Tubs are provided in the laundry if you don't wish to use the washing machines.
3. WASTE - We reduce waste by recycling old paper for note paper, putting what we can on the worm farm, use soap dispensers rather than individual wrapped soaps, etc. Our tree trimmings get chipped and used as mulch on our gardens. We offer recycling stations throughout the Holiday Park should you choose to use them. Our toilet paper is biodegradable. All our old furniture and fittings are donated to another camp or sold in our garage sale. Nothing is thrown away.
4. We buy most of our products from local sources which both supports employment in our community and reduces the distance our goods must travel to reach us.
5. We have fundraised for Natureland and the Surf Life Saving Club and donate our staff time to the Tahuna Business Association. Our erosions work is ongoing. We sponsors in excess of 20 local enterprises such as local schools, sports clubs, school boy rugby, Lions and Rotary Clubs etc.

7. In 2010 we won the HAPNZ Innovation award for our Heatpump system which resulted in energy savings and a reduction in emissions.
